Why Solar Electricity in Grenada?

Grenada is one of the very few places in the world, where there is a natural market for Solar Electricity. This is because of the high electricity price and the high irradiation of the sun.

An average system (1.7 kWp) at today’s electricity price pays back for itself in about 12 years, but as the oil price will most likely rise, the pay-back time is predicted to be much less.

Since the guarantee on the panels is 25 years (lifespan is usually over 35 years), one has free electricity for a minimum of 13 years.

All this is possible through one-to-one net-metering.
